Eaton Introduces the MLDB - A Flat Face QD Coupling for Fluid Transfer Applications

Eaton is proud to announce the introduction of the new MLDB Series Stainless Steel Flat Face Quick Disconnect Coupling product line. The MLDB Series is a dry break quick disconnect coupling for use in fluid transfer applications. The MLDB couplings are manufactured using 316 stainless steel and are designed for use in aggressive environments when couplings manufactured from carbon steel are not suitable. The most common use for the MLDB series will be in the food and chemical processing industries.

The new MLDB series couplings interchange with DB series couplings formerly produced by Eaton. Even though the MLDB and DB series halves are interchangeable, please be aware that the MLDB series is not a direct replacement for the DB series. Due to the fact that DB and MLDB couplings exhibit different operating pressures, the maximum operating pressure of a DB half (plug or socket) connected with a MLDB (plug or socket) is 360 psi (25 bar) in all sizes. For higher pressure stainless steel flat face needs, please refer to our MLFF series and consult Eaton document number E-MEQD-MC006-E.

The features and benefits of the MLDB Series are as follows:


· Available in 1/4″ (5.9 mm), 1/2″ (11.5 mm), 3/4″ (16 mm), and 1” (18.5 mm) body sizes

· Designed and manufactured in accordance with Article 3.3 of the European Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23 EC.

· Features a standard safety sleeve lock that prevents accidental disconnections when couplings are connected.

· Features a push-to-connect design with double shut-off valves.

· Color coding ring option in the 1/2″ size to allow visual identification and prevent mixing of connections

· Resistant to aggressive environments and corrosion due to the 316 stainless steel design.

· Available in end connections including: BSP, NPT. Alternative end connections available upon request.

· Available in a wide variety of seal materials.

Color coded rings are available in standard colors of red, green, blue, and yellow for both plug and socket halves in the 1/2″ size only. Additional colors can be made available upon request and based on a minimum order quantity of 500 pieces per part number.



The MLDB Series quick disconnect couplings are individually packaged and the plug and socket halves are sold separately.



The product will be labeled with the brand names of “Eaton” and “Gromelle-Hansen”.
